Hello! Lovelies
It is that beautiful time of year again. Snow is falling, temperatures are dropping and Christmas is just a handful of weeks away. One of my favorite things to do this time of year is to bake, and I love baking all kinds of things but my favorite has always been cookies. Cookies are the perfect sweet treat.
So for the next 6 weeks leading up to Christmas I will be doing one cookie recipe a week.
So for the next 6 weeks leading up to Christmas I will be doing one cookie recipe a week.
Week 1:
Gingersnaps
Recipe: Pre-Heat Oven: 375°F Makes about: 25-30 Cookies Bake: 8-10 minutes
1 Egg
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1/4 Cup White Sugar
1/4 Cup Molasses
3/4 Cup Shortening
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1 Teaspoon Ginger
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Ground Cloves
2 1/4 Cups All Purpose Flour
In a stand mixer or mixing bowl combine brown & white sugar, molasses, egg and shortening. Mix. Then add your baking soda, ginger, cinnamon and ground clove. Mix together. Once all those ingredients are mixed thoroughly add your flour.
In a small bowl (a cereal bowl will work) add 1/2 cup sugar. Ball dough into 1 1/2 - 2 inch balls and roll in sugar and then place on cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes.
Once they've baked cool on wire rack or place on wax paper.
I hope you enjoy this recipe, if you try it I'd love to know. Comment below or tweet me pictures at @ChicCountryGirl
Enjoy!
Love
Emily
