As some of you have seen over this past month is that I love FOOD!
It's so yummy! I know a lot of the things I've shared with you haven't been the most healthy but hey they sure taste yummy. ;)
It's so yummy! I know a lot of the things I've shared with you haven't been the most healthy but hey they sure taste yummy. ;)
All you need is:
Hamburger
Kraut (Cabbage)
Onion
Salt & Pepper
Rhodes Frozen Rolls
Prep:
Start off by buttering your Rolls and then put them aside in a pan/dish to raise. Cover them with a tea towel. I usually do this in the morning and then they will be ready for dinner.
Start off by browning your meat and onion. Add salt & pepper for taste. Chop the cabbage anyway you feel like this isn't proper science. If you chop the cabbage in large pieces don't worry cooking will help shrink it back down.
Once your meat is fully cooked add your chopped cabbage. You will want to put the lid on so that your cabbage will cook & steam. Do this until cabbage is softened.
Once your meat and cabbage mixture is cooked get your rolls out and stretch them out. You will need two rolls per Kraut Burger. Place one flattened roll on a cooking sheet and add meat & cabbage mixture. Once you've done that cover it with another roll and pinch the edges together. After you've made all your Kraut Burgers place them on a sheet and place in the oven at 375° F or 190° C (I think that's equal to 375° F) for 15 minutes or until Golden Brown.
Once cooked let cool and lightly butter the tops if you'd like, This is an optional step.(As you can see on this batch I put a little to much.)
Also if you'd rather make your own rolls or where you live don't sell this brand you can always use a different kind.
Plate & Enjoy!
What did you do today? If you're taking part in 30 say snap please post your photo in the comments.
Love,Emily
PS
This is my Grandmothers Recipe so I really hope you enjoy it :)
I absolutely love Kraut Burgers. Do you know if they freeze well and if you would be able to throw one in the microwave to heat up? I'm they only one who will eat them in my house.
ReplyDeleteSorry it took me so long to reply. I was meaning to ask my Grandma who's made them a lot longer than me but I keep forgetting. I have never but I don't know why you couldn't. I heat mine up in the microwave from the fridge. Hope that helps! :)
