Makeup Monday: Astor Skin Match Glow BB Cream

Hello! Lovelies

BB Cream a once Asian cult classic is now a worldwide thing. Everyone sells there own version of a "bb cream" these days. I mostly use them in the Summer, So this review comes just in time cause summer is just around the corner.  A BB cream is similar to a tinted moisturizer but its supposed to have different benefits for your skin. I can't say after using them that I've seen a noticeable difference in my skin but I do enjoy a good BB cream. Over the years I've tried a good few. Some western versions and classic Asian ones. Both with good results. A few of the Asian ones have been off color wise but nice none the less.

BB Cream was actually invented in the 60's by a German dermatologist, So it's fun to be able to try a German Drugstore BB cream.

Astor Skin Match Glow is a beautiful product. It leaves your skin hydrated and glowing. It gives you a light even coverage. Remember that this isn't foundation, you will not get high coverage from a true bb cream. I myself have acne and scaring on my cheeks and chin. This product left a great finish. I then went in with concealer to hid the not so great areas of my face and powdered it.

If high coverage and flawless skin is what you are looking for then I wouldn't recommend this product or any bb cream really. This leaves your natural skin slightly visible and breathable. I really like this BB cream. It's great for light makeup days, or for when its really hot out and you don't want a full face of makeup.

This is a beautiful product. If you are looking for a new BB cream to try and are in Europe than I 100% recommend this.

All in one beauty balm claims to:

  • Increase Natural Radiance
  • Brings Instant Glow
  • SPF 15
  • Unifies Skin Tone

Pros:
Hydrating

Cons:
Not available in USA
Color range only 2 choices I believe

Makeup Monday: L'Oréal La Palette 2 Nude Review

Hello! Lovelies

I've had this eye shadow palette sitting in my room for a couple weeks now. I hadn't opened it because I wanted to take pictures before I tried it and well finally this weekend I got around to doing so. And am I glad I did, It's amazing! I can't believe I let it sit there untouched for so long, missing out on it's beautiful pigmentation and colors.

When I first seen this in the drugstore I wasn't so sure about it. I'd tried similar palettes like this in the past from the drugstore and never were they that special. So at first I didn't buy it. I came home and did a little research to see how people liked it. And from what I seen and heard was that #2 Nude was better than #1. (This palette comes in two options.)
I'm glad I did that little bit of research. No matter what the price is, it's always best to look into a product before buying it. Because if its $15 dollars or $50 dollars its best to know if the product is any good before spending your money.

L'Oreal La Palette Nude 2 is a stunning 10 shade eye shadow palette. The range includes matte and satin finished shadows. Each more beautiful than the next. Colors are in the plum purple family: including taupe, champagne, and pinky nudes. Each color is highly pigmented. If I didn't know any better I would have thought these were from a higher end brand.

Above are some pictures to show you how nicely they swatch. I was afraid that they might swatch nice but not appear as nice on the eyes. But thankfully that was not the case with these. I wore this palette on my eyes from 9-10am until 9pm and they were still bright and vivid. Now yes they had worn off a bit but most all brands will in that length of time.
I loved how creamy and soft these shades are. Not chalky or flat.

I went for this one over the #1 Nude palette (browns and cream shades) because its different than others I own. And I am very glad I chose it, I know I will get lots of use out of this $15 dollar drugstore palette.

Pros:
Cost
Pigmentation
Long wearing

Cons:
Non that I've yet to find

5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Have you tried this palette, How do you think it compares to other high end palettes of similar design?

If you'd like to try this palette it can be bought at: Walmart, Target & Walgreens.

Foodie Friday: Graze Box Review | Food Subscription Box

Hello! Lovelies

I've reviewed many different beauty boxes on this blog in the past. But recently I unsubscribed to my last one I was still receiving. I am sure I will go back to it eventually but I thought Id take a break for awhile.

But recently I was watching a video by MakeupByTiffanyD on YouTube and she was talking about a food subscription box called Graze that she receives. It has 4 little snacks in each box, unless you get the larger box which has 8. And all of them are on the healthier side. To be honest though when she said that I was wondering if they would really taste good or not. Because lets be real here not always do "healthy" snacks taste good, don't get me wrong I am not saying they can't, they just don't always do.

Anyways you could get your first box free so I thought why not try it. No harm in doing so. And well it came earlier this week.

 My box came with:

  • Chili Lime Nuts

  • Seaweed Rice Crackers

  • Caramel Apples

&

  • Summer Berry Flapjacks

So far I've had the nuts and flapjacks. The Chili Lime flavor was so good. I wish I could go to the store and buy more. The first bite I had of the flapjacks I wasn't so sure about. I don't know what it was but I didn't think I liked them but then I took another bite and it was really good. I could totally eat them again. I'm not so sure about the other two but I will give them a go and see.

The 4 box selection is $6.99 and the 8 $11.99.  I think I will continue to buy the 4 for awhile and see how I like the service.

The thing I like about this box is that it's always little healthy-ish snacks and not just random junk like other food boxes I've seen before. Another nice thing about them is that they are small and pre packaged so if your late or in a hurry you can just pop one in your bag and go.

Pros:

Taste
Price

Cons:

I can't buy full sizes of the snacks I like.

 4 stars ☆☆☆☆

Have you tried Graze, Or any other good Food subscription boxes?

Fashion DIY: How To Make Elastic Hair Ties | Perfect For Summer

Hello! Lovelies

Today I am back with a new DIY and a very easy one at that. Some of you may already know how to make these and what to buy but maybe some of you don't, so if not then this is the post for you.

If you have hair like mine (waist long or longer) than you always need a good hair tie. When I need to concentrate I have to have my hair up and out of my face. I don't know what it is, but when my hair is up it means I'm ready to take care of business. Also when it's really hot it's nice to be able to pull your hair up and off your neck and out of your face.

Again like most of my DIYs I bought the elastic from Hobby Lobby so if you like the designs I have check out your local store or online. This kind of elastic is easy to find these days at most craft stores since these type of hair ties have become rather popular.

You'll need:

  • A Ruler

  • Scissors (Sharper the better)

  • Elastic Decorative trim

1. Start off be measuring your elastic. I cut mine 10 inches. You can make them however big or small you want but I feel that 10 inches makes a nice size tie. Remember that the knot will take away from the finished length so I recommend making it no smaller than 8 1/2 inches, unless you have very thin hair or are making them for children. 2. Once cut fold elastic piece in half. 3. Loop around and pull through the center. 4. Make sure to pull the knot towards the top. And tie tight. You don't want it to come loose. 5. Trim end.

And your done! It's super easy. You don't need much skill, money or time. It's the perfect DIY project. And you can make a good few from one roll of trim. A lot better deal than buying them already made. Plus you can find different patterns and colors.

I hope you enjoyed this post. If you did and you make them Id love to see. Tag me on Instagram or Twitter @ChicCountryGirl

Makeup Monday: Astor 45 Sec Quick & Shine Nail Polish | 605 Chic Countryside

 Hello, Lovelies

Today I am here to share a beautiful nail polish with you. My sweet Aunt visited Germany recently and stopped by a Drugstore and picked me up a bunch of fun goodies from Astor. Astor is a German Drugstore brand which isn't available in the United States,  I'm not sure if it's in other parts of Europe or only Germany. You can find it online at different makeup shops though.

I love a good drugstore product. I use a good handful of them on a daily basis. So when I seen this I was excited to give it a try.

This product is called " 45 Sec Quick & Shine". And it's just what the name says, Fast drying and a beautiful shine. You really only need one coat and no top coat is need. It's just a stunning polish. I don't know if I call the drying time 45 seconds but it does dry a lot faster than other polishes I've tried.

Astor is owned by Coty Inc. which is a Cruelty Free company. Which is something I try looking for when I buy products. Just another great thing to love about Astor.
A unique thing about this is that the brush is very wide and flat unlike any others I've seen. Makes painting quick & easy.

The finish and shine are just outstanding. One of the best drugstore products I've tried. I'd highly recommend trying any of the shades in this range. They are all very beautiful and if the formula is anything like this then I'm sure they'll be amazing too.

 Pros:
Fast Drying
Beautiful Shine
Cruelty Free

Cons:
Not available in USA :(

5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

Have you tried anything from Astor? If so how'd you like it?

KikkiK Planner Review + My Planner Essentials

Hello, Lovelies!

Planners seam to be something people think of at the beginning of the year, not something they think of in May but personally I think "Why not?!" there is no rule saying you can't get organized part way through the year. I've seen a lot of planners that start in June 2015 and go to June 2016. I recently bought the Kikki.K Large Personal Planner in Dark Mint. I had looked at lots of different options but I thought this would best fit my needs. Plus you can easily refill it since its in binder form and you can even use different planner pages if you don't want to use the Kikki.K ones year after year.

These planners are more than just a place to jot down where you need to be and at what time. For a lot of people they've become a mini scrapbook and a creative outlet. You can make your pages look however you'd like. That's what I like most about the Kikki.K planner you can add lots of different bits and bobs.

They've become known as Life Planners. Their is a whole Planner Community out there that I never knew existed much like a lot of you I assume.

Kikki.K  Review:

My planner is a beautiful Mint, Tiffiany Blue-esque color. It's amazingly designed with great function. It has a multiple slots and pockets on the inside front section along with a zippered pocket. Great for receipts or business cards, maybe coupons. Things you want to keep on hand and easy to find. It also comes with two note pads. One small in the front and a large one in the back.

It came with different sections to write stuff down: Meetings, To Do, Calendar.
The only thing I didn't realize when ordering was that It didn't come with a daily week by week calendar. So once it arrived I had to order that. That is really my only complaint I wish they would described the calendar a bit more and mentioned that if you want the day to day that you should also order that. When you buy it you just fill in the days. Where the other has the day written down ie. May 7, 2015. With a large section to decorate and write down the days events.

The Kikki.K comes with a few stickers but none that are overly fancy or fun. But for extra you can buy different sticker books and accessories on their site.

I love this planner. I can't wait to use it for years and year to come.

Pros:
Easy to use site + Fast international shipping. I live in CO and it came from Australia
Quality
Size

Cons:
Price, They aren't the cheapest planner you will find but worth the $79.99 I paid

My planner essentials:

This can be adapted into any planner. If you don't have the Kikki.K that is fine.

  • Stickers: Oh how I love planner stickers. So many different styles and shops to choose from. Of course you can buy any stickers but planner stickers are so much fun. They have ones for all different activities. My favorite shops are Alex Studio, Station Stickers, &  Girl Is Crafti

  • Washi Tape: Washi tape is a forum of decorative Japanese masking tape . In comes in hundreds of colors and designs. You can use it all sorts of  ways. My favorite stores to buy from are: Mail Box Happiness , & Mind The Wrap. You can also find generic forms of Washi at Walmart, Target and local craft stores.

  • Sticky Notes: All different colors, shapes & sizes.
