Makeup Monday: ELF Studio Blush Palette | "New" 4 Shade Palette

Hello, Lovelies!

Eyes Lips & Face otherwise known as ELF cosmetics has done it again. They have released a 4 shade Blush palette that is beautiful. ELF's studio line is known for it's beautiful blushes & bronzers at a very affordable price point. I myself use their Bronzer & Blush duo everyday, the one that is a dupe for Nars Orgasm & Laguna, but in my personal opinion there is something about the Elf duo that I like better than the high end one.

This palette comes in two different shade ranges Light & Dark. Both look very nice. But I picked up the Light because I thought it would look nice for Spring & Summer. Now after trying this one and liking it so much I wouldn't mind trying the dark one as well.

These are beautifully pigmented, they blend very nice. Super creamy and soft to the touch not chalky at all. They appear the same color as in the tin when swatched and applied to the face. Over all they are an amazing product, Really don't have anything bad to say about them. So glad Fleur of FleurDeForce had this in her recent video, if she hadn't I might never have picked it up.

Pros:
Price $6
Pigmentation

5 stars ☆☆☆☆☆

If you'd like to try this for yourself it can be bought in store at Walmart or Target, and online.

What's your favorite ELF product?

Foodie Friday: Rustic Birds Nest | A Haystack Inspired Recipe

Hello!

Spring has sprung and I am very excited about it. Don't get me wrong I love Winter, being from Colorado you have to love Winter otherwise you wouldn't live here.
Since Spring arrived last week, you can hear the birds sing, the bees buzzing and the daffodils have bloomed. Spring is mother natures fresh start, It brings forth new life. Have I mentioned baby lambs and cows, how very cute they are this time of year.

So I thought I'd make up a sweet treat inspired by the changing season. This would make a great treat for your Easter dinner.

This recipe is inspired by the classic retro treat called Haystacks. That are either made with noodles or pretzels. You could always substitute the Choy mein for pretzels.

Makes: 1 dozen

1 1/3 Cups Butterscotch Chips (11 oz package)
4 Cups Mini Marshmallows
2 Tablespoon Butter
4 Cups La Choy Chow Mein Noodles (6oz package)

In a medium sized sauce pan melt 2 tablespoons butter. Once your butter has melted add in Butterscotch chips and mini marshmallows. Make sure your stove top isn't set to high, you don't want to burn your marshmallows. They can easily burn if you have the heat too high. Keep stirring until they've melted. Once they have both melted add in your chow mein noodles. Mix into your melted mixture.

Line cookie sheet with wax or parchment paper. Scoop on tray into little mounds and press in the center. Once you've scooped them all out press in the middle Chocolate eggs. That way they will set up with the nest and not fall out.

Caution: I recommend using spoons and not your hands to form them. You will end up burning your hands. They don't need to be perfect. No two birds nests are alike so there's no need to hurt yourself for the idea of "Perfection".

Let cool 1-2 hours before eating. You can speed up the cooling by placing them in fridge for 20-30 mins.

I hope you enjoy this sweet treat, If you make them I'd love to see them. Tag me on Twitter or Instagram @ ChicCountryGirl.

Love,
Emily

Review: Anjolee "The Art Of Jewelry" | Citrine Gemstone Eternity Ring

 Hello! Lovelies

Diamond jewelry what a more precious thing to receive. For those lucky enough to purchase it or for those of us who receive it on special occasions. People have always said "Diamonds are a girls best friend", and I don't know if I believe that to be true but I do think they are very special. They are classic and timeless. I myself was lucky enough to be given my Great Grandmothers wedding set from my Grandmother and I will treasure it forever.

Anjolee jewelry offers a wide variety of Diamond jewelry: Bracelets, Earrings,& Diamond Bridal Sets . The unique thing about the site is that you can customize whatever you purchase. From the size of the stone to the diamond quality, metal and more.

Diamond jewelry will forever be classic. It can be worked into any style or look. It can be worn dressed up or down. A nice piece will be passed down from generation to generation.

The above ring is made of sterling silver, my birthstone Citrine & CZ. And it's stunning. The quality is beautiful. I've worn in none stop since I received it last week. I know I will be wearing it for a very long time.

If you've been searching for the perfect Diamond piece for awhile and just haven't found it yet I would take a look at Anjolee. They have many different styles to choose from. I am sure you will find something that suits your needs.

Also with Graduation season not that far away nor Mothers Day, Anjolee would make the perfect keepsake gifts for those you love. Every item comes in a beautiful little lacquered box.

Recipe: Pistachio Nut Meringue Cookies | Saint Patricks Day Treat

Hello!

With tomorrow being Saint Patrick's Day I thought I'd whip up a yummy little Green treat. I wouldn't really say that this is an "Irish" dessert but a fun one to make for St. Patrick's day none the less.

Pistachio in my opinion is one of the best dessert flavors. That is very under appreciated in the states. In my local grocery store you can't even buy Pistachio flavoring, I have to buy it online.

I've recently become a little obsessed with Meringues, They are a very fun and special little treat. They look very fancy but are rather easy to make. And you can make them in an endless variety of flavors.

Bake: 275°F for  40 minutes, Let cool in oven 1 hour Makes 26 cookies

4 Egg Whites (Room Temp)

1/4 teaspoon Salt

1/4 teaspoon Cream Of Tartar

1 1/4 cups Granulated Sugar

3 teaspoons Pistachio Flavoring

3-4 drops Green Gel Food coloring

10-15 Unsalted Pistachios Crushed

In a stand mixer. Add egg whites, salt, cream of tartar. Mix. Keep mixing for 2-3 minutes. First few minutes will look like you are mixing bubbles. Once soft peaks have slowly began to form start slowly adding in your sugar. Keep mixing and adding in your sugar. After you've added all your sugar continue to mix. Add in your favoring & gel color. Mix for another 2-5 minutes or until you see stiff peaks.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. And scoop mixture onto tray with a spoon or cookie scoop. Sprinkle the top of the scooped Meringues with crushed Pistachios. Bake for 40 minutes on the middle rack (Not bottom). If placed on bottom rack the bottoms of the meringue will overcook

I hope you enjoy this recipe and have a wonderful Saint Patrick's Day wherever you live, I know I will. It's always been a favorite holiday of mine.

Happy St. Patrick's Day, And may the Luck Of The Irish be with you!

                                                                      Love,
                                                                      Emily

Recipe: Raspberry Meringue | + Giveaway Recipe Notebook

Hello, Lovelies

Meringue a delicate dessert that I as an American feared making. When I think of people who eat and make Meringues I think of a little pastry shop somewhere in Europe overlooking an ancient and beautiful cobblestone square. Not me.
But I went ahead and gave it a try anyway.

And I do believe they tuned out very nice.

Bake: 275°F for  40 minutes, Let cool in oven 1-2 Hours

4 Egg Whites (Room Temp)

1/4 teaspoon Salt

1/4 teaspoon Cream Of Tartar

 1 teaspoon Vanilla

2 teaspoons Raspberry Flavoring

1 1/4 cups Granulated Sugar

optional: 3-4 drops Red Gel Food coloring

In a stand mixer or large mixing bowl. Add egg whites, salt, cream of tartar, vanilla & flavoring. Mix. Keep mixing for 2-3 minutes. First few minutes will look like you are mixing bubbles. Once soft peaks have slowly began to form start slowly adding in your sugar. Keep mixing and adding in your sugar. After you've added all your sugar continue to mix 2-5 minutes or until you see stiff peaks.

Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper. And scoop mixture onto tray with a spoon or cookie scoop. Bake for 40 minutes on the middle rack (Not bottom). If placed on bottom rack the bottoms of the meringue will overcook.

To keep them from cracking leave in oven until cool. Which I did. Mine cracked during the cooking, I am just glad they didn't fall. I think the cracks look rather pretty. Not sure if the cracking had to do with baking at a high altitude ?

Makeup Monday: First Impressions | Physicians Formula City Glow Bronzer Paris (Updated: Review)

Hello, Lovelies

While out shopping today, looking for my favorite foundation that is always sold out (Flower Cosmetics) I came across the prettiest thing I've ever seen in the "drug store" section of the makeup department in Walmart. Physicians Formula's City Daily Defense Bronzer in "Paris". I had never seen it before but once I did I just had to take it home with me, It was too pretty to leave behind.

The powder is embossed with iconic French buildings and a cobblestone street reading "Paris". With the bronzer color being a golden glitter with a lighter more flesh toned shade as well. The glitter on the buildings goes away with first use.

In the past I've tried PF products with mixed results. Most have been due to pigmentation issues. When I seen this product I just knew I had to give it a try.

When I first swatched these two colors they looked a bit more orange than I would have liked. And once I applied them to my skin they really didn't show up that much at all. This product was a bit on the higher end for a drugstore product. Costing almost $15.00
Since this is only a first impressions I will give you a better review of the product after I've worked with it a bit more. But so far I am not really loving the actual product. The design pressed in the powder is stunning but in a makeup product I want more than just a pretty design.

Once I've fully tested this bronzer I will give you a full updated review on this post.

Have you tried this Paris Bronzer, If so how did you get along with it?

|Update|

So I gave it a try and still wasn't happy with it. All I liked about it was the design, the product itself I didn't care for at all. This is the 3rd or 4th product I've tried from Physicians Formula and I've yet to like any of them. Normally I never ever return a beauty product but I just didn't feel like throwing $15 dollars away knowing I'd never use it.

I would love to find a product that I love from this brand. So many people say great things about them I've just yet to find the one for me. Most all of their powders are beautiful looking I'm just afraid of wasting my money on them in fear they don't work.

Makeup Monday: The Glam Guide by Fleur De Force | Beauty & Lifestyle Book Review

Hello! Lovelies

In the past year it seams as though all of the popular YouTubers have been releasing their own books. But I have yet to buy any of them until now. I feel as though a few of them have been guided towards the younger viewing audience than for those of us who are in our 20's. So when I heard Fleur of Fleur De Force was going to be releasing a book I couldn't wait. If you don't know who Fleur is, She's an English based beauty/lifestyle blogger & vlogger.
I've been watching her videos and reading her blog for years. When the book arrived in the post last week I felt almost like a proud friend.
No I have never met Fleur but seeing her become so successful is amazing. When I discovered her channel she was well under 100,000 followers and now she has over 1 MILLON. The girl has come a long way from her very first hauls & "What's in my handbag?" videos.

The Glam Guide is not just a beauty book it's more of a lifestyle book. With helpful tips and tricks. Like I said before it's not just a book for young teenagers. I feel like girls 13-30 would enjoy this book.

The illustrations in the book are beautiful! As well the photographs.

I've read many books similar to this but so far this one is my favorite. If you enjoyed Lauren Conrad's style book, I think you'd like this a lot. It's more personal and covers a wider range of topics.

This book covers

Beauty & Hair

Fashion

Travel

Love

As well as what made her "Internet" famous, YouTube & Blogging.

This book gives you tips and ideas without telling you how you should look and behave. I highly recommend you check out this book. If you are like me and live in the US you can order it online from Amazon.co.uk, They will ship here. I believe Fleur said it would be released in the US sometime later this year.

I give this book:

If you are a girly girl and love all things makeup, beauty and glamour you will love this book!
